At the end of February, I had three prophetic dreams one evening. In the third dream, my husband and I were kneeling on the ground and being prayed over. We both had someone bending over us, placing their hands on our heads, and saying, “Breakthrough will come in May.”
The two other prophetic dreams came to pass or were confirmed within a day of the dream, which had me believing that the third dream would come to pass too. While I didn’t know how the breakthrough would come, I held fast to the hope that it would.
ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE
Then May 1st came, and hell was unleashed upon us. The day came and went with all members of my household brutalized. The next morning I reached out to some of my intercessors, and one of them said, “A major onslaught seems to be unleashed against several of God’s people. I have been in major prayer all day yesterday and today – over attack. It feels like all hell has been unleashed. I feel it big time in the air. It is so thick.” Every other one I reached out to echoed a similar thing.
On top of this, the Lord made it very clear that May would not only hold breakthrough for the Anacans, but it would also be a month of breakthrough for others in the body of Christ; thus, me sharing this with you today.
I decided to study more about God breaking through in Scripture. I came upon 2 Samuel 5:17-25 (NIV):
“When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. Now the Philistines had come and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there. And he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim. And the Philistines left their idols there, and David and his men carried them away.
And the Philistines came up yet again and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. And when David inquired of the Lord, he said, “You shall not go up; go around to their rear and come against them opposite the balsam trees. And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.” And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba to Gezer.”
After God delivered David and his men, David called the place “Baal-perazim,” meaning the Possessor of the Breaches or the Lord of Breaking Through.
BEFORE THE BREAKTHROUGH, THE ENEMY’S SIGHTS HAD BEEN SET
As I was reading this Scripture, I got a vision of a soldier with armor on. His armor had cracks in it due to past wounds, which is where the enemy was targeting him. I saw the enemy exploiting these weak points, and he would continue attacking there until those cracks and wounds were healed.
THE KIND OF ATTACK
The severity of the attack in May would be unleashed so strongly that those attacked would not only want to retreat but retreat in silence. They would want to disappear entirely off the radar and walk away from their calling, purposes, and all they had been contending for. The Lord showed me that these aren’t the kind of people that retreat. These are forerunners and those that have endured almost endless attacks. They had been here before, but something about this attack would hit them differently, deeper to the heart than ever before – the proverbial one that broke the camel’s back, and the enemy was counting on that.
YOUR DEEPEST WOUND
As I inquired further of the Lord, I sensed the attack would be against marriages, children, and families. This is the deepest of the deep. It is deeper than slander and reputation. It is deeper than money troubles and work problems.
Have you and your spouse been fighting with each other due to areas that have been left unhealed in your marriage? Is your household in chaos with false accusations being leveled against one another?
If you aren’t married, invite the Spirit into any wounds from your family of origin.
Regardless of your marital or family status, can you identify your deepest wound? It is coming to the surface now. Identifying it is key.
GOD WANTS TO HEAL YOUR DEEPEST WOUND
While the enemy is trying to exploit your deepest wound to keep you from your calling, purposes, and all you’ve been contending for, God is bringing it forth to heal it and seal up the cracks in your armor. He wants to partner with you to heal the wounds of the past, so they are no longer fodder for the enemy to keep returning to. The Lord wants to heal your deepest wound, for that is where your greatest breakthrough will come.
HOW TO WITHSTAND THE ONSLAUGHT
This battle belongs to Him. Our job is to stand. As I was inquiring of the Lord on strategies and how to stand during these attacks, this is what I heard:
Acknowledge your deepest wounds and ask Him to reign in that place.
Plead the blood of Jesus over the wounds. This cleanses them.
Ask the Holy Spirit if you’ve been partnering with generational wounds. If you have identified sin in them from yourself or others, ask for forgiveness over them.
Get to the place where you say enough is enough. Ask Jesus to come and shut the door on all areas these wounds seep into. Get specific about what doors you ask Him to shut (the root of your wound).
Worship Him in the place of your wounds.
If your deepest wounds come from your marriage and family, unify with your family as you work through them. Unity in the midst of unresolved pain helps close the cracks in your armor. Love, humility, forgiveness, and honor will go a long way in your ability to stand.
Intercede for yourself, your marriage, family, and children in the way you see the enemy working.
Enlist trusted intercessors to partner with you.
The life of your marriage, family, and future needs you to stand.
BREAKTHROUGH IS AT HAND
The breakthrough that you have been waiting years for is at hand. Don’t let the enemy take you out. Do not retreat. Be strong and courageous. Hold fast to the words in Micah 2:12-13 (NIV):
“I will surely gather all of you, Jacob;
I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.
I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,
like a flock in its pasture;
the place will throng with people.
The One who breaks open the way will go up before them;
they will break through the gate and go out.
Their King will pass through before them,
the Lord at their head.”
The Lord Breaking Through, “Baal-perazim”, is going before us to make a way. He will deliver us from the enemy’s hand. Our job is to stand. Don’t retreat. Partner with His spirit to heal your wounds, and you will overcome.
